Invitation to Participate in Virginia Tech PhD Documentary Film Research Project

Art Conroy is a doctoral candidate in adult learning and human resource development. His research is focused on the implementation of grounded cognition in work team simulations. The Grounded Cognition Simulation (GCS) model was developed to improve information sharing in team environments in the intelligence community. This GCS workshop is designed to collect qualitative interviews (five minute exit interviews) from participants at the conclusion of the one‐day workshop. The workshop presents a set of standard symbolic models used during the processes of problem solving, planning and decision‐making.

Participants are also presented with a grounded cognition symbolic model. The exit interviews are filmed and are designed to record perceptions of skill assessments.
